About Us
Welcome to Praktical Equestrian, a show jumping program based in the Foothills of AB, and operating out of Creekside Farm. Founded in 2015 by Samara Heinrichs Prak and incorporated in 2021, Praktical Equestrian offers an individualized approach to training and developing both horse and rider.

Samara, originally from Manitoba, spent her junior years experiencing a wide range of disciplines. Having been gifted riding lessons at the age of seven, she began her show career at county fairs competing with western pleasure and western equitation classes. She progressed to competing in reining, team penning and young horse futurities, while beginning to ride english at the age of ten. After competing in dressage for a year, her focus shifted to show jumping and she's never looked back.

Samara has trained and competed across North America, including representing Canada at the 2010 NAYRC. She has developed horses that have competed in National Grand Prixs, FEI Young Horse classes and up to the 5* level at Spruce Meadows.
Mission
To create a safe and consistent space for the horse and rider to develop, while still keeping a sense of humour, both in and out of the saddle.
Vision
To create riders and horses that have a solid foundation to back up the goals they set out to achieve. Horsemanship, correct riding and patience develop horses and riders for lasting success in the sport.
